Mission Accomplished, eh, McCain?

While I was in Dallas visiting Arpit, we discussed McCain's recent Mission Accomplished by 2013 speech. I've already made my decision for 2008, so I've kind of stopped listening. (However, I'm not deaf, so I've still had to shake my head at the candidates from time to time.)

Anyway, Arpit pointed out that the date 2013 would coincide quite nicely with McCain's second-term campaign for the presidency if he gets elected this November. Of course, Arpit's right, and I'm disappointed in McCain (again) for his transparency. Come on, Johnny boy, if you're going to scheme, at least do it with some subtlety, man. It's tragic that this kind of double-talk is just par for the Capitol Hill course. I really shouldn't be surprised, though -- McCain's schemes are not known for their subtlety.

Arpit was especially tickled satisfied when Hilary Clinton called shenanigans on McCain for exactly this same reason. Clearly, Clinton has been reading Arpit's blog. I don't blame her; she has worse political advisors on her payroll.

Tickled?

tickled? not the word I would have used to describe that, but okay.

and what's with this: "I don't blame her; she has worse political advisors on her payroll" ??? while i guess it's a complement to be the best of the worst, i do fancy myself a pretty decent political editorialist...

You'll know when I insult you

This was a complement Wink
